لماذا تقرأ هذا الكتاب؟
- • Start from first principles: emf, Maxwell’s equations, and conservation laws.
- • Master electromagnetic waves in vacuum, dielectrics, dispersive media, and plasmas.
- • Learn how energy and momentum flow via the Poynting vector and related concepts.
- • Understand waveguides, modes, cut-off frequencies, and phase/group velocities.
- • See radiation and antenna physics—from Larmor’s formula to far-zone fields.
الوصف
Essential Electrodynamics is a compact, student-oriented resource designed for courses in undergraduate electromagnetism. It builds from the foundations of electrodynamics—electro-motive force, Faraday’s law, Maxwell’s equations, and conservation laws—before progressing to the physics of electromagnetic waves. The book develops the wave equation and plane-wave solutions, transmission-line behavior, and propagation in vacuum and linear dielectrics, then extends to dispersive media, including conductors and dilute plasmas. It covers waveguides and their discrete modes, and concludes with radiation and scattering, including Larmor’s formula, dipole radiation, antenna theory, and a formal retarded-potential treatment in the far zone. Each chapter includes exercise problems, with solutions provided separately.
